Black Hua went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Miss Adok was slow to begin.  Ace Marlow, Blackpool Shaz and Seabrook Indi collided approaching the first turn checking Seabrook Indi. Miss Adok and Seabrook Indi collided on the first turn. Spirited Bingle eased entering the home straight. Spirited Bingle and Ace Marlow collided entering the home straight checking Spirited Bingle. Why Not George raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Morrissey, the trainer of the greyhound Spirited Bingle regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.  Spirited Bingle was vetted and re-vetted following event 4.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and left groin, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Spirited Bingle with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Morrissey pleaded guilty to the charge, Spirited Bingle was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards waived the 28 day stand down period (GAR 31-Non Arrival ) for the Greyhound Mint Boy on 27 October 2016, after the Trainer of the Greyhound Mr R. Clark supplied evidence of  a vehicle breakdown to Stewards.

Flying Holly was slow to begin. Big Cool Prosser and Proven May collide soon after the start. Call Mr Waylan, Road Driller, Gelwix and Our Luck collided on the first turn. Flying Holly faltered in the back straight and tailed off. Call Me Waylan and Our Luck collided on the second turn checking Call Me Waylan. Call Me Waylan raced wide in the home straight.

Flying Holly was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tear to the left monkey muscle. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.

Dark Portal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Bumpstead, trainer of the greyhound Taz's Man which had not raced since 9 June 2016. Mr Bumpstead stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after recovering from a fractured hock.

The start of this race was delayed 1 minute to allow the taping on Taz's Man to be reapplied.
