Steward's Report
The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Dr. Don and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:32am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. W. McMahon was fined the sum of $100.
Soldier Spy and Ronray Spirit collided soon after the start. Cosmic Angel and Encee Eye Gibbs collided soon after the start and again at the 250 metre mark checking both greyhounds. Nockabout Aussie was held up for a run at the 50 metre mark.
Ronray Spirit was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Reid, trainer of Ronray Spirit regarding the greyhounds overall performance in today's event. Mr. Reid stated that it was Ronray Spirit's first run in three weeks and in his opinion, the greyhound would be further improved by today's race. Stewards noted his comments and took no further action.
