Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 25.2 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Little Splinter.
Grand Fromage and Little Splinter were quick to begin. Darra Might was slow to begin.
Grand Fromage (eased and turned its head in the home straight), underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. A re-examination of Grand Fromage was declined by Representative - Mrs. Emma Scott. Stewards spoke to Mrs. Scott regarding the racing manners of Grand Fromage in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Grand Fromage was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Scott pleaded guilty to the charge. Grand Fromage was found guilty as charged (first offence) and will stand down for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
