Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Gilmore the representative of Select Selwood regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Select Selwood last raced 12 Janurary, 2016 and is returing to racing after a short retirement.
Mrs. J. McMahon, the trainer of Moore Of Darcy declared a new weight of 36.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Moore Of Darcy last raced at 34.9kgs.
Oakmont Blonde was quick to begin. Love Capers was slow to begin. Tricky Trey, Select Selwood and Explosive Sky collided soon after the start. Tricky Trey and Elswyk Gal collided approaching the first turn. Oakmont Blonde and Elswyk Gal collided on the first turn checking Oakmont Blonde. Lady Hook was checked off Moore Of Darcy entering the back straight. Love Capers and Tricky Trey collided on the second turn checking Explosive Sky. Oakmont Blonde raced wide approaching the home turn.
