A pre-race sample was taken from Colden Star.
Colden Star was very slow to begin (3L). Dynamic Spin and Beyond The Vally were slow to begin. Beyond The Vally checked off Watta Rush soon after the start. Watta Rush checked off Uptown Funk approaching the first turn. Beyond The Vally and Colden Star collided on the first turn. Just Be Patient, Dynamic Spin and Rylee's Marshall collided on the first turn, checking Rylee's Marshall, Dynamic Spin and Beyond The Vally. Uptown Funk checked off Batty Allen approaching the winning post.

Colden Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injured right foreleg bicep, right and left foreleg shoulders and right foreleg chest muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs P Bryant, the trainer of Colden Star, and reminded her of her responsibilities in regards to ensuring that she fully clears the lead from the greyhound prior to placing it in the boxes.
Stewards issued a warning to Mrs P Bryant, the trainer of Colden Star, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.
