Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr T.Comensoli, the representative of Kraken Nitro regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kraken Nitro last raced on 25 April, 2016. Mr Comensoli stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a back muscle injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Nudge Nudge.
Pocket Kings was quick to begin. All Inn Boston was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Nudge Nudge, Bella Rico, General Romulus, Brazen Bull and Wolfpack collided soon after the start checking Genreal Romulus and Wolfpack. Nudge Nudge, Bella Rico and Wolfpack collided on the first turn. Wolfpack, Pocket Kings and Brazen Bull collided on the first turn, severely checking Pocket Kings. Nudge Nudge and Bella Rico collided on the first turn checking Nudge Nudge. Kraken Nitro and All Inn Boston collided on the first turn. Nudge Nudge, All Inn Boston and Kraken Nitro collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Kraken Nitro. Brazen Bull and Wolfpack collided on the home turn. General Romulus and Pocket Kings collided on the home turn. Nudge Nudge checked off Kraken Nitro on the home turn and again entering the home straight. All Inn Boston and Pocket Kings collided in the home straight.
Kraken Nitro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind toe, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
