A pre-race sample was taken from Dragon Glass.
Belron Gus was slow to begin. Tiggerlong Swage and Uncool Albert collided soon after the start checking Uncool Albert. Belron Gus, Steel Fury, Trov's Gem, Wet And Wild and Uncool Albert collided approaching the first turn. Belron Gus, Steel Fury and Uncool Albert collided on the first turn, severely checking Trov's Gem. Trov's Gem and Wet And Wild collided on the first turn. Dragon Glass and Tiggerlong Swage collided entering the home straight. Belron Gus and Uncool Albert collided entering the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr C. Mercieca, Trainer of Dragon Glass, regarding the direction that the greyhound be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
Meeting Comments:
Satisfactory Trial Results - Proven Pops trialled over the 390m from box 2, weight 31.5kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.87, the greyhound won by a margin of 7.75 lengths. Proven Pops was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms S.Quinlan, the trainer of Cullquin Cuddles regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Cullquin Cuddles last raced on 1st November, 2015. Ms Quinlan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from a right shoulder injury and seasonal. Ms Quinlan declared a new weight of 29.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cullquin Cuddles last raced at 30.1kg. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cullquin Cuddles trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 29.5kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.87, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13 lengths. Cullquin Cuddles was cleared.
