Steward's Report
All In Megan went up with the lids at box rise. Tommy Longstride checked off Miss Giblet soon after the start. Tommy Longstride, Ariki Whero, Heartbreak Mary and Seabrook Eb collided soon after the start checking Tommy Longstride. Hillbilly Spunk eased on the first turn checking Miss Giblet and Tommy Longstride. Ariki Whero and Heartbreak Mary collided approaching the home turn. Golden Busby and All Inn Megan collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Hendy, the handler of the greyhound Hillbilly Spunk regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Hillbilly Spark was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left hind toes, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Hillbilly Spark with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hendy pleaded guilty to the charge, Hillbilly Spark was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
