Steward's Report
Provision, General Remus and Kraken Jayjay were slow to begin. Parie Shiraz was very slow to begin (3L). Super Ricky checked off Clovalley Arnie on the first turn checking General Remus and Provision. General Remus checked off Clovalley Arnie in the back straight. Rosie's Gift and Chopstick Walrus collided approaching the second turn checking Chopstick Walrus. Super Ricky checked off Kraken Jayjay on the second turn. Parie Shiraz and General Remus collided approaching the home turn checking Parie Shiraz. Clovalley Arnie raced wide approaching the home turn. General Remus checked off Super Ricky on the home turn. Rosie's Gift and Super Ricky collided entering the home straight checking Chopstick Walrus. Kraken Jayjay eased approaching the winning post and collided with Clovalley Arnie checking Kraken Jayjay.
Super Ricky was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a pencil muscle injury. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Jones, the representative of the greyhound Kraken Jayjay regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Kraken Jayjay was vetted and re-vetted following event 5. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and deltoid muscle and the left groin muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Kraken Jayjay with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Jayjay was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
