All In Megan went up with the lids at box rise. Tommy Longstride checked off Miss Giblet soon after the start. Tommy Longstride, Ariki Whero, Heartbreak Mary and Seabrook Eb collided soon after the start checking Tommy Longstride. Hillbilly Spunk eased on the first turn checking Miss Giblet and Tommy Longstride. Ariki Whero and Heartbreak Mary collided approaching the home turn. Golden Busby and All Inn Megan collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Hendy, the handler of the greyhound Hillbilly Spunk regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Hillbilly Spark was vetted  following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left hind toes, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Hillbilly Spark with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Hendy pleaded guilty to the charge, Hillbilly Spark was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Provision, General Remus and Kraken Jayjay were slow to begin. Parie Shiraz was very slow to begin (3L). Super Ricky checked off Clovalley Arnie on the first turn checking General Remus and Provision. General Remus checked off Clovalley Arnie in the back straight. Rosie's Gift and Chopstick Walrus collided approaching the second turn checking Chopstick Walrus. Super Ricky checked off Kraken Jayjay on the second turn. Parie Shiraz and General Remus collided approaching the home turn checking Parie Shiraz. Clovalley Arnie raced wide approaching the home turn. General Remus checked off Super Ricky on the home turn. Rosie's Gift and Super Ricky collided entering the home straight checking Chopstick Walrus. Kraken Jayjay eased approaching the winning post and collided with Clovalley Arnie checking Kraken Jayjay.

Super Ricky was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a pencil muscle injury. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.

Kraken Jayjay was vetted and re-vetted following event 5.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and deltoid muscle and the left groin muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Kraken Jayjay with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Jayjay was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Spa Primrose and Lana Lass were slow to begin. Mister Nudge, Swift Bunny, Cathay Princess and Dame Oregano collided approaching the first turn checking Mister Nudge, Swift Bunny and Cathay Princess. Spa Primrose checked off Lana Lass entering the back straight. Spa Primrose raced wide in the back straight. Lana Lass, Mister Nudge and Lady Lurcher collided on the second turn checking Mister Nudge and Lady Lurcher. Mister Nudge checked off Spa Primrose approaching the home turn. Swift Bunny and Lady Lurcher collided entering the home straight.

Be Hopeful was a late scratching at 9:26am due to LRR 29.2. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. P Gabriel, the trainer of Charlie Arabali regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Charlie Arabali last raced on 13th February, 2016 and is returning to racing after a change of kennel.

Invictus Skybird was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left groin. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. M. Schmidt, the trainer of the greyhound Invictus Skybird.  Stewards deemed the performance of Invictus Skybird unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Invictus Skybird must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. In determining this decision, Stewards took into consideration the interference the greyhound received approaching the winning post.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. D Carswell, the trainer of Remember Train regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Remember Train last raced on 22nd October, 2015. Mr. Carswell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season and a change of kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Remember Train trialled over the 425m from box 1, weight 28.9kg's, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.39,  the greyhound was beaten a margin of 6.75L. Remember Train was Cleared.

Blinker Trial - Dee's Diamond trialled over the 425m from box 8, weight 30.7kg's, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.39, the greyhound won by a margin of 5.25L. Dee's Diamond was Cleared.
