Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Smokey Bourbski.
Regal Barry was quick to begin. Crafty Beer was slow to begin.
Misty Blue and Crafty Beer collided turning out of the front straight, causing Misty Blue to fall and Crafty Beer to lose ground and subsequently tail off. These greyhounds underwent post-race veterinary examinations:
- Misty Blue was reported to have no apparent injury.
- Crafty Beer was found to have injuries to the left back and triangle muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Smokey Bourbski - placed 3rd in the event.
Following this event, Stewards received reports of an altercation that had occurred as the greyhounds were being caught post-race. Stewards interviewed registered trainers Mr. Richard Boehm and Ms. Danielle Smith. An inquiry was subsequently opened and adjourned to allow Stewards to further investigate the matter.
