Arvos's Texan was a late scratching at 6:40pm due to non arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. G. Arvanitis was fined the sum of $100.
Elite Lucy and Dr. Brandon were slow to begin. Jolly Beggarman and Dr. Brandon collided approaching the first turn checking Jolly Beggarman. Elite Lucy crossed to the rail approaching the first turn. Panda Bale and King Humpty collided approaching the first turn. Panda Bale and Dr. Delta collided on the first turn. Jolly Beggarman raced wide on the first turn. Dr. Brandon brushed the running rail in the back straight. Dr. Delta checked off Dr. Brandon approaching the third turn. Elite Lucy and Dr. Brandon collided several times from approaching the home turn to entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Elite Lucy marred the running of Dr. Brandon approaching the winning post.
Elite Lucy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Scott-Smith, the trainer of the greyhound Elite Lucy regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Elite Lucy with marring. Mr. G. Scott-Smith pleaded guilty to the charge. Elite Lucy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
