Steward's Report
Platinum Emotion and Joe Handson were slow to begin. Joe Handson eased approaching the first turn. Windy Hill checked off Buckle Up Miska approaching the first turn. Platinum Emotion galloped on the heels of Tarn Star on the first turn checking Platinum Emotion, Tarn Star, Abit Late and Explosive Lass. Abit Late checked off Tarn Star on the home turn. Abit Late veered out and marred the running of Tarn Star in the home straight.
Abit Late was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke Mr. G. McLachlan, the trainer of the greyhound Abit Late regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Abit Late with marring. Mr. G. McLachlan pleaded guilty to the charge. Abit Late was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Joe Handson was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. T. Jones, the trainer of the greyhound Joe Handson regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Joe Handson with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge. Joe Handson was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69 (A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
