Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Aston Gaga.
Statue Of Time was slow to begin.
Yum Cha Jack (faltered soon after the start) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down was imposed.
Aston Gaga (lost ground rounding the first turn and in the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left stifle. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Mr. Raymond Gatt regarding the performance of Aston Gaga in the event. Stewards observed that, despite losing considerable ground in the back straight, Aston Gaga finished the race off strongly by regaining ground on the home turn and in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Gatt, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued.
