Captain Plod was slow out. Roma Piere, Sniff's Shadow and Big Changes collided soon after the start checking Roma Piere. Big Changes and Cottoneyed Joe collided soon after the start. Big Changes galloped on the heels of Cottoneyed Joe at the 200mtr mark checking both greyhounds. Sniff's Shadow and Cottoneyed Joe collided at the halfway mark.
