Karl was vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right hamstring. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Bell, the Stewards will stand Karl down from competing for 5 days. Stewards spoke to Trainer, S. McKenna, regarding the performance of Karl over the concluding stages of the Event. Mr. McKenna told the Stewards that in his opinion, the greyhound appears to struggle over the 600 metres at this track as evidenced on this occasion when the greyhound raced wide during the early stages of the race. Mr. McKenna further stated that it is his intention to trial the greyhound over the 600 metres before nominating for this distance again.
