Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Messines.
Sparkling Sammy and Messines were slow out. Voodoo Oak and Sweet Sachet collided soon after the start. Inbetween Days, Cuz I Can and I'm All In collided approaching the first turn. Sparkling Sammy checked off the heels of Inbetween Days on the first turn checking Cuz I Can, Voodoo Oak, Sweet Sachet and Messines. Cuz I Can, Voodoo Oak, Sweet Sachet and Messines collided approaching the second turn. Cuz I Can, Sweet Sachet and Messines collided on the second turn checking Cuz I Can, Sweet Sachet and Messines. Cuz I Can checked off the heels of Messines entering the back straight. Inbetween Days and Lika Fresian collided in the home straight.
Sparkling Sammy was vetted following the event and Dr Steve Karamatic, the club's veterinary surgeon reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to it's right and left scapula and left back muscle. Acting on a recommendation from Dr Karamatic, the stewards will stand Sparkling Smmy down from competing for 10 days.
