Steward's Report
Hasty Shiraz was slow out. Smooth Larry and Boston's Element collided soon after the start. Fine Tune and Kafelnikov collided soon after the start. Hasty Shiraz checked off the heels of Mach Four approaching the first turn. Boston's Element galloped off the heels of Mach Four on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Zamira, Fine Tune and Kafelnikov collided in the back straight and again approaching the third turn. Zamira, Fine Tune and Kafelnikov collided on the third turn checking Zamira and Kafelnikov. Kafelnikov checked off the heels of Zamira approaching the home turn checking Boston's Element which raced wide as a result. Smooth Larry and Hasty Shiraz collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Kafelnikov was vetted following the event and Dr Steve Karamatic, the club's veterinary surgeon reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's right monkey muscle and left whip muscle. Acting on a recommendation from Dr Karamatic, the stewards will stand Kafelnikov down from competing for 5 days.
