Steward's Report
Court Gift and Smiling Sorcerer were slow to begin. Ego's Lady and Kilty Boy collided soon after the start. Skye Warrior and Mylina Sparkle collided on the first turn, checking Skye Warrior and SMiling Sorcerer, and severely checking Court Gift which stumbled as a result. Secret Mantra raced wide approaching the home turn checking Cullquin Jake. Secret Mantra eased approaching the home turn and again approaching the winning post. Kilty Boy, Secret Mantra and Cullquin Jake collided on the home turn, checking Secret Mantra and Cullquin Jake.
Stewards spoke to K. Ashton, the trainer of the greyhound Secret Mantra regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Secret Mantra was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right pencil muscle and spike wounds to the right hind toe, a five day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Secret Mantra with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). K. Ashton pleaded guilty to the charge, Secret Mantra was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Court Gift was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Cullquin Jake was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards issued a warning to Ms. S. Quinlan, the handler of Cullquin Jake regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Stewards took into account the pressure suffered from Secret Mantra to Cullquin Jake's inside.
Smiling Sorcerer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained track leg injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards issued a warning to Mr. R. Tolson, trainer of Smiling Sorcerer regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.
