Grand Bomber was quick to begin. Leo Speedwagon and Tat Jocko were slow to begin. All Inn Memphis crossed to the rail soon after the start. All Inn Memphis, Letsy Bale and Mrs. Fozz collided soon after the start checking Mrs. Fozz and Leo Speedwagon. Tat Jocko and Leo Speedwagon collided approaching the first turn. Dingo Bale, Grand Bomber and Rambo's Party collided on the first turn. Grand Bomber checked off Rambo's Party on the first turn checking Grand Bomber. Grand Bomber and Mrs. Fozz collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Grand Bomber raced wide on the home turn.
Grand Bomber was vetted and re-vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Glover the trainer of the greyhound Grand Bomber. Stewards deemed the performance of [Grand Bomber unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Grand Bomber must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
