Mr Terrence Dexter trainer of Katunga Time redeclared a new weight of 32.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).Katunga Time last raced at 30.8kg.
Take Up Jack and Woomera were quick to begin. Gunai Diva and Katunga Time collided soon after the start checking Gunai Diva. Katunga Time and Woomera collided soon after the start. Roo Dee and Take Up Jack collided soon after the start checking Roo Dee. Roo Dee and Katunga Time collided approaching the first turn checking Katunga Time. Take Up Jack, Cowboy Jury and To Seven Eleven collided on the first turn checking To Seven Eleven. Take Up Jack eased on the home turn checking Roo Dee and Cowboy Jury. Cowboy Jury and Katunga Time collided in the home straight. Katunga Time and To Seven Eleven collided in the home straight.
Take Up Jack was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr J Collins the representative of the greyhound Take Up Jack regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Take Up Jack with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr J Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Take Up Jack was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(A)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
