Steward's Report
Stewards interviewed Mr Darren Peterson, the trainer of Katoni in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this race. Mr Peterson advised stewards that the greyhound sustained a back muscle injury and that Mr Peterson had not supported his other greyhound Rocky Horror in the event.
A pre-race sample was taken from Beautiful Liar.
Beautiful Liar lost ground on the first turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms Kellie Morrison regarding the racing manners of Shavano in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Ms Morrison, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
There was no head-on vision avaliable in the home straight for this event.
