Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(7) Steward, Ms Demi Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
A pre-race sample was taken from Drop Pin.
Calypso Queen was quick to begin. Mikado Eclipse, Dr. Zeppelin and Dr. Whitlee were slow to begin.
Kale visibly eased and turned its head to the outside in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left front toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Gill regarding Kale’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Kale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Gill pled guilty to the charge, Kale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Dr. Whitlee turned its head to the outside on the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Gill regarding Dr. Whitlee’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Dr. Whitlee was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Gill pled guilty to the charge, Dr. Whitlee was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
