Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 28.9 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.0 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Pursuant to GAR 75(6), kennel attendant Ms. Amber Manning did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Archer Seven was quick to begin. Aston Daicos was slow to begin.
Good Neighbour (faltered approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left bicep injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Brianna Robertson-Leech regarding the racing manners of Good Neighbour approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Ms. Brianna Robertson-Leech, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Archer Seven (checked entering the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left quadricep injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Brad Sands regarding the racing manners of Archer Seven on the home turn. After hearing submissions from Mr. Brad Sands, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued.
Storms Will Roll (marred Mr. Sin Rap in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have thunps. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Peter Desmond regarding Storms Will Roll's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123,Storms Will Roll was charged with marring. Mr. Peter Desmond pleaded guilty to the charge. Storms Will Roll was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Aston Daicos (faltered soon after the start and was checked on the first turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the left hind foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
