Smooth Vixen – Late scratching at 12:31 due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mrs Rosalie Kerr informed Stewards that she had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. The 28 day stand down was removed from Smooth Vixen following the production of evidence of the breakdown, to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

Jayville Bolt was quick to begin. Myall Mannered, Spolly John, Authentic and Reality Returns were slow to begin. 

Reality Returns was severely checked and contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Maheno – Late scratching at 12:32 due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mrs Rosalie Kerr informed Stewards that she had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. The 28 day stand down was removed from Maheno following the production of evidence of the breakdown, to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

Pursuant to GAR 75(7) Steward, Ms Demi Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.

Cowboy Ethics – Late scratching at 13:20 on the advice of the On– Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to elevated temperature. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Kale visibly eased and turned its head to the outside in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left front toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Gill regarding Kale’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Kale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Gill pled guilty to the charge, Kale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dr. Whitlee turned its head to the outside on the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Gill regarding Dr. Whitlee’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Dr. Whitlee was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Gill pled guilty to the charge, Dr. Whitlee was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

After hearing submissions from Ms Gill, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. 

Romarosa – Late scratching at 12:33 due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mrs Rosalie Kerr informed Stewards that she had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. The 28 day stand down was removed from Romarosa following the production of evidence of the breakdown, to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
