A pre race sample was taken from Faith In Bear.
Crackerjack Lad was slow to begin.
Prancing Lad, Proceed and Kevaud's Girl collided soon after the start checking Proceed and Kevaud's Girl. Vapour King checked off Faith In Bear on the first turn. Proceed checked off Prancing Lad on the first turn. Prancing Lad, Oscar Shiraz and Crackerjack Lad collided entering the back straight checking Oscar Shiraz and Crackerjack Lad. Prancing Lad and Crackerjack Lad collided approaching the second turn checking Oscar Shiraz. Kevaud's Girl, Oscar Shiraz and Proceed collided on the second turn checking Oscar Shiraz. Crackerjack Lad and Kevaud's Girl collided entering the home straight checking Kevaud's Girl. Vapour King checked off Prancing Lad in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to trainer of Don's Bullet, Mr. K. Ward and issued him a severe reprimand to for his failure to retrieve the greyhound by the appointed time (GAR46). In considering penalty, Stewards took into account that this was a consequence of Mr Ward's late arrival in event 7 and that a fine was already issued for that incident.
