Steward's Report
We Push On – Underwent a kennelling veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Late scratching at 1:10pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. Guy Bartlett was fined $100.00.
Be Yourself was quick to begin. Senorita Cruz and Sky's Delight were slow to begin.
Be Yourself lost ground turning into the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards were made aware of an incident in the catching pen shed prior to the start of this event involving registered participants Ms Kate Gorman and Ms Kerry Minne. After hearing submissions from Ms Gorman, Ms Minne, and several witnesses to the incident, Stewards imposed the following penalties after considering all the available evidence:
Ms Kate Gorman - Pleaded guilty to a charge of GAR 165(a) in that she engaged in conduct that was detrimental to the image of greyhound racing. Stewards imposed a penalty of $250.00.
Ms Kerry Minne - Pleaded not guilty to a charge of GAR 165(a) in that she engaged in conduct that was detrimental to the image of greyhound racing. Stewards found Ms Minne guilty and imposed a penalty of $250.00, with half suspended for a period of 12 months pending no similar offences or further breaches of the relevant rule.
