Pursuant to GAR 75(7) Steward, Ms. Demi Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
A pre-race sample was taken from Sleepless Nights.
Wolf and Fernandes Mac were quick to begin. Not Happy Jan was slow to begin.
Fernandes Mac visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 7. No apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Gerry Orr regarding Fernandes Mac's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Fernandes Mac was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Orr pled not guilty to the charge. Fernandes Mac was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Supplementary Report – 21 April 2022: The suspension of Fernandes Mac under GAR 124 was appealed to the Victorian Racing Tribunal. The VRT upheld the appeal and quashed the penalty issued.
Gold Skulltula faltered approaching the winning post and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Not Happy Jan marred Fernandes Mac approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right deltoid muscle and right sartorius muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs Maria Barber regarding Not Happy Jan’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Not Happy Jan was charged with marring. Mrs. Barber pled not guilty to the charge. Not Happy Jan was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
