Inter Bengal visibly eased and turned its head to the inside at the 100m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Tony Interligi regarding Inter Bengal’s racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Inter Bengal was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Interligi pled guilty to the charge. Inter Bengal was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Out And Dreaming was quick to begin. 

A post-race sample was taken from Thunder Struck - the winner of the event. 

Superior Shirley galloped awkwardly after the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right long head triceps muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

A post-race sample was taken from On A Mission - the winner of the event. 

An out of competition sample was taken from Hunter Grange on 08/03/2023, pursuant to GAR 139.

Hunter Grange was very slow to begin (3 lengths). 

Stewards spoke to Mr Rodney Lund regarding the difficulty in boxing Aston Ataina in this event. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 106 (2) and Stewards will monitor future starts.

Wolf and Fernandes Mac were quick to begin. Not Happy Jan was slow to begin. 

Fernandes Mac visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 7. No apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Gerry Orr regarding Fernandes Mac's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Fernandes Mac was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Orr pled not guilty to the charge. Fernandes Mac was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Supplementary Report – 21 April 2022: The suspension of Fernandes Mac under GAR 124 was appealed to the Victorian Racing Tribunal. The VRT upheld the appeal and quashed the penalty issued. 

Gold Skulltula faltered approaching the winning post and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Not Happy Jan marred Fernandes Mac approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right deltoid muscle and right sartorius muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs Maria Barber regarding Not Happy Jan’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Not Happy Jan was charged with marring. Mrs. Barber pled not guilty to the charge. Not Happy Jan was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Kody Talks was slow to begin.

My Boy Robert was quick to begin. Don't Tell Greg was slow to begin. 

Natural Action was quick to begin. Salience, Specialty and Simba's Girl were slow to begin.

A pre-race sample was taken from Bold Edge. 

Fairtrade Marjen was quick to begin. 

Mick Says So faltered at the 250m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 11. Mick Says So was found to have a right hamstring injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested kennel representative Mr. Calven Russell to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Mick Says So in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Persuasive faltered approaching the winning post and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Challis Candy was slow to begin. Chop was very slow to begin (3 lengths). 

Cosmic Holiday - New declared weight of 30.8kg, last raced at 32kg. 

Luca's Jebrynah - New declared weight of 35.3kg, last raced at 33.6kg.
