Die Hard was slow to begin and stumbled soon after the start.

Die Hard severely checked on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg triangle injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Deadly Class severely checked and fell on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have lacerations to the left hip and right tibia, back pain and left hindleg hip soreness.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Acting in accordance with the GRV Lightning and Thunderstorm Safety Procedure, racing was suspended at 9:25 pm due to thunderstorm and lightning strikes within the designated safety zone around the Geelong venue.  Due to safety concerns the meeting was delayed by 37 minutes and races re–scheduled accordingly.  Races 9, 10, 11 & 12 were amended to the following times: Race 9 – 10:02 pm, Race 10 – 10:19 pm, Race 11 – 10:38 pm and Race 12 – 10:55 pm.

Plaintiff – Late scratching at 2:58 pm when Mr Jason Thompson reported the greyhound to have a leg injury (GAR 76).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Nice And Easy – Late scratching at 6:03 pm due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39).  No stand down period was imposed.  Mr Jason Portelli informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track.  Stewards advised Mr Portelli that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival.  The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
