Maverick Blondie, Binalong Sands and Micko Fozz were slow to begin.  Small One and Tommy Toyman collided approaching the first turn.  Micko Fozz galloped on the heels of Binalong Sands on the first turn.  Micko Fozz and Small One collided on the first turn checking Small One which collided with Tommy Toyman as a result.  Micko Fozz and Binalong Sands collided on the second turn.   Small One raced wide on the second turn.  Micko Fozz and Big Boy McEvoy collided on the home turn.  Melody In Motion lost ground on the home turn and eased in the home straight, subsequently raced wide and made contact with the outside fence/presentation area and failed to finish the event.

Melody In Motion was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured stifle and was humanely euthanised.  Stewards spoke to Mrs D. Selleck, Representative for Trainer of Melody In Motion, regarding the greyhound's performance over the concluding stages of the event.  Mrs Selleck advised that the greyhound was having its first start over the distance today, which was noted by the Stewards.  Considering all the circumstances no further action was taken.
