Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Albert's Magic on Wednesday, 15 September 2021 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Albert's Magic – New declared weight of 31.6 kg, last raced at 30.4 kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Slingshot Maze.
Mt. View Blonde underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race.
Slingshot Maze, Rowchester Wig and Soho Expresso were quick to begin. Albert's Magic, Rock The Planet and Mt. View Blonde were slow to begin.
Slingshot Maze checked off Rowchester Wig on the first turn. Soho Expresso and Slingshot Maze collided approaching the home turn. Myola Queen checked off Slingshot Maze approaching the home turn, causing Soho Expresso and Slingshot Maze to collide; checking Soho Expresso; severely checking Slingshot Maze, causing Slingshot Maze and Rock The Planet to collide, Slingshot Maze fell as a result; causing Mt. View Blonde to hurdle Slingshot Maze and race wide. Albert's Magic and Soho Expresso collided on the home turn.
Slingshot Maze underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg humerus injury. Slingshot Maze was humanely euthanised.
A post–race sample was taken from Rowchester Wig – the winner of the event.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track approaching the home turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.
