Steward's Report
Bullying – Late scratching at 10:56 am when trainer, Mr Garry George reported the greyhound to have a laceration (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards have received a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v). Stewards spoke to Mr George in regards to the circumstances surrounding the late scratching and noted his comments.
A pre-race sample was taken from Happy Lass.
Happy Lass, Slingshot Trojan and Action Girl were quick to begin.
Aston Marla and Lektra Gal collided soon after the start. Aston Marla checked off Lektra Gal approaching the first turn. Happy Lass contacted the running rail on the first turn; causing Happy Lass and Lektra Gal to collide; checking Aston Marla, causing Aston Marla and Milana Rose to race wide. Happy Lass and Lektra Gal collided approaching the home turn, checking Happy Lass. Slingshot Trojan and Action Girl collided entering the home straight.
Happy Lass underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
