A pre-race sample was taken from Maverick Nacho.
Innocent Gem and Who Did That collided soon after the start. Denzell Bale, Miss Cosmic Lee, Maverick Nacho and Quintana Bale collided on the first turn; checking Miss Cosmic Lee and Maverick Nacho. Miss Cosmic Lee checked off Who Did That approaching the home turn, checking Innocent Gem. Innocent Gem faltered on the home turn and pulled up.
Innocent Gem underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track on the home turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.
