Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Mt. View Audrey.
Mac Rooster, Big Wings and Camulos were quick to begin.
Mt. View Audrey and Usman Bale collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Mac Rooster, Big Wings and Camulos collided on the first turn checking Mac Rooster, Big Wings, Camulos and Tough Tears. Mt. View Audrey and Usman Bale collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Mac Rooster, Big Wings and Camulos collided entering the back straight checking Camulos, severely checking Mac Rooster and Big Wings. Camulos checked off Tough Tears in the back straight. Usman Bale crossed in on the third turn checking Camulos. Usman Bale and Camulos collided on the third turn checking Usman Bale. Big Wings marred Camulos on the home turn.
Mac Rooster underwent a post-race veterinary examination to have an abrasion to the right hind foot. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Ronald Winter, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s performance throughout the event. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Winter to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Mac Rooster in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Big Wings underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Brendan Pursell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Big Wings was charged with marring. Mr. Pursell pleaded guilty to the charge, Big Wings was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
