Steward's Report
Phoenix Flight was slow to begin.
Saint Tess and Ambitious collided soon after the start checking Ambitious. Runnin' Riot and Ambitious collided approaching the first turn. Runnin' Riot checked off Saint Tess on the first turn. Runnin' Riot checked off Ambitious on the first turn checking Runnin' Riot.
Following the event Saint Tess displayed signs of Post Exercise Distress Syndrome (PEDS). As a result, the greyhound underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be displaying clinical signs of Ataxia/Hypermetria. A 14 day stand down penalty was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Byrne, the trainer of Saint Tess. After hearing submissions, the Stewards acted in accordance with GAR 74 and Saint Tess must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, plus a veterinary clearance of fitness before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Rothford - the winner of the event.
