All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 30.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.7 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Classic Moment was slow to begin.

Jean Crisp and Inga Leah collided on the first turn checking Inga Leah. Felonious Gru raced wide on the home turn and turned its head to the outside towards Natural Image, Felonious Gru collided with Natural Image, checking both greyhounds. Natural Image and Felonious Gru collided several times in the home straight.

Felonious Gru underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Garry George regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Felonious Gru was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr George pleaded guilty to the charge, Felonious Gru was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Water Dragon and Kinimakatka collided approaching the first turn checking Water Dragon. My Name's Nipper and Maximum Ang collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn, checking My Name's Nipper. My Names Nipper trailed the field and lost considerable ground from the home turn to the winning post.

My Name's Nipper underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Burkett, the trainer of My Name's Nipper regarding its performance on the home turn and in the home straight.  Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, My Name's Nipper must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Time Turner and Majestic Jewel collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Margo and Market Scooby collided approaching the first turn checking Zipping Margo. Market Scooby and Time Turner collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Market Scooby and Time Turner collided in the home straight checking Market Scooby.

Inga's Leo– New declared weight of 33.4kg, last raced at 32.3kg.

Big John and Saint Sunshine were slow to begin.

Tinted and Inga Zach collided soon after the start checking Inga Zach. Tinted checked off Inga Leo approaching the first turn. Tinted raced wide in the home straight.

Big John – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52. 

Chasing Honey, Bohemian Blue and Rahela Bale collided soon after the start checking Bohemian Blue and Rahela Bale. Bohemian Blue and Rahela Bale collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Bohemian Blue, Rahela Bale and Slippery Swan collided on the first turn checking Rahela Bale. Bohemian Blue and Slippery Swan collided several times approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Bohemian Blue and Slippery Swan collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Phoenix Flight was slow to begin.

Saint Tess and Ambitious collided soon after the start checking Ambitious. Runnin' Riot and Ambitious collided approaching the first turn. Runnin' Riot checked off Saint Tess on the first turn. Runnin' Riot checked off Ambitious on the first turn checking Runnin' Riot.

Following the event Saint Tess displayed signs of Post Exercise Distress Syndrome (PEDS).  As a result, the greyhound underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be displaying clinical signs of Ataxia/Hypermetria.  A 14 day stand down penalty was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Byrne, the trainer of Saint Tess.  After hearing submissions, the Stewards acted in accordance with GAR 74 and Saint Tess must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, plus a veterinary clearance of fitness before any future nomination will be accepted.

Raph City, Parlo Bale and Trickster Cabang collided soon after the start. Raph City checked off Parlo Bale on the first turn and collided with Trickster Cabang. Raph City and Trickster Cabang collided approaching the home turn checking Trickster Cabang. Raph City raced wide on the home turn.
