Steward's Report
Alkonost was quick to begin. Show Queen was slow to begin. Lonesome Yoda checked off Hearts Denied soon after the start. Alkonost checked off He Can Talk approaching the first turn. Lonesome Yoda faltered on the first turn and lost ground. He Can Talk and Worldwide collided on the first turn. Show Queen and Aviana Bale collided on the home turn checking Show Queen. He Can Talk and Worldwide collided entering the home straight. Celtic Deed raced wide in the home straight. He Can Talk and Worldwide collided several times in the home straight to the winning post. Lonesome Yoda raced wide throughout the event.
Worldwide underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Cortese regarding the racing manners of Worldwide in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Cortese, viewing all available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
Lonesome Yoda underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs. K. Fogarty regarding the greyhound’s performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Lonesome Yoda must perform a satisfactory trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), Mrs. Fogarty was requested to report as soon as practical anything that may have affected the running of Lonesome Yoda in the event, which was not reported by Stewards or the On Track Veterinarian during or immediately after the event.
