Kiwi Billy and Evanlee were quick to begin.  Bomber’s Power was slow to begin.  Kiwi Billy and Run Topper collided approaching the first turn.  Barnaby Blitz and Run Topper collided on the first turn causing Barnaby Blitz to cross out and collide with Ohana Pearl.  Bomber’s Power checked off Run Topper entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Alkonost was quick to begin.  Show Queen was slow to begin.  Lonesome Yoda checked off Hearts Denied soon after the start. Alkonost checked off He Can Talk approaching the first turn.  Lonesome Yoda faltered on the first turn and lost ground. He Can Talk and Worldwide collided on the first turn. Show Queen and Aviana Bale collided on the home turn checking Show Queen.  He Can Talk and Worldwide collided entering the home straight.  Celtic Deed raced wide in the home straight.  He Can Talk and Worldwide collided several times in the home straight to the winning post.  Lonesome Yoda raced wide throughout the event.

Worldwide underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Cortese regarding the racing manners of Worldwide in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Cortese, viewing all available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.

Lonesome Yoda underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right triangle muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs. K. Fogarty regarding the greyhound’s performance in this event.  Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Lonesome Yoda must perform a satisfactory trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.  In accordance with GAR 75 (1), Mrs. Fogarty was requested to report as soon as practical anything that may have affected the running of Lonesome Yoda in the event, which was not reported by Stewards or the On Track Veterinarian during or immediately after the event.

Airly Liberty was quick to begin.  Stratospheric was slow to begin. Hurricane Miss checked off Carnivore on the first turn.  Carnivore checked off Mt. View Jewel on the first turn.  Mt. View Jewel checked off Mt. View Ginger approaching the home turn.  Mt. View Jewel checked off Stratospheric entering the home straight.

Hurricane Miss underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left wrist and an abrasion on the right hind foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Broken Boots was quick to begin.  Zippy Customer was slow to begin.  How High Austin, Shango Run and Bomber’s Smokey collided on the first turn severely checking Shango Run and Bomber’s Smokey.  Highway Man checked off Saniyah Bale on the home turn.  Zippy Customer checked off How High Austin entering the home straight.

Bomber’s Smokey underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left wrist and right back muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Spookie Charm - (Weight) - Field of 2, Distance 400 metres, Weight 32.4kg, Box 4, Placed 1st, Time run 23.94.  Comment: Not cleared at this weight due to not meeting the time standard. 

A sample was taken from Calypso Princess upon arrival having been presented for a satisfactory trial. Calypso Princess was subsequently found to be ineligible to trial.

Following an inquiry, Trainer Mr Ronald Cameron was issued a charge pursuant to GAR86(q) in that he engaged in conduct detrimental to the image and control of greyhound racing. The particulars of the charge being that at the race meeting today following race 8, Mr Cameron used inappropriate language in response to a request from a Steward. Mr Cameron pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $150.
