Cruz Out faltered soon after the start and took no competitive part in the event. Acacia Dream and Zipping Bambi collided in the back straight. Mega Heist and Acacia Dream collided approaching the home turn. Berringa Blue checked off Zipping Bambi approaching the home turn.
Cruz Out underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
