All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of boxing, starting, and catching greyhounds.

Fernando Dusty was quick to begin.  Storm Raptor was slow to begin.

Blue Spot and Fernando Dusty collided soon after the start.  Blue Spot, On Pursuit and Fernando Alessia collided on the first turn.  Fernando Dusty and La Spezia collided on the first turn.  Blue Spot and On Pursuit checked off the heels of Fernando Alessia on the first turn and collided with Jessie's Brew; checking Reiko Haze, On Pursuit and Jessie's Brew.  Blue Spot turned its head out and visably eased in the home straight.

Blue Spot underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right foreleg stopper injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Darren Fisher regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Blue Spot was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Fisher pleaded guilty to the charge, Blue Spot was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from La Spezia - unplaced in the event.

A sample was taken from Bolt Out at the trainer’s kennel earlier today. 

Uriana Bale, Bolt Out, Pandorica and Quest For More were quick to begin.  Rowchester Jan, Siala Giblet, Waylin Bale and Rubina Bale were slow to begin.

Siala Giblet and Rubina Bale collided soon after the start.  Pandorica and Quest For More collided soon after the start.  Waylin Bale checked off the heels of Siala Giblet on the first turn.  Rowchester Jan and Quest For More collided approaching the home turn.  Siala Giblet checked off the heels of Rowchester Jan approaching the home turn.  Rowchester Jan and Rubina Bale collided several times on the home turn.  Rowchester Jan and Siala Giblet collided in the home straight.

Extremely was quick to begin.  Destroy We Said was slow to begin.

Maximum Coco, Canary Wharf and Very Jiggling collided soon after the start; checking Maximum Coco and Canary Wharf.  Dark Stormy and Very Jiggling collided on the first turn.  Extremely and Al's Full House collided on the first turn.  Canary Wharf and Destroy We Said collided on the first turn.  Destroy We Said and Very Jiggling collided on the home turn.  Maximum Coco checked off the heels of Destroy We Said on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Gleaming, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.

Jack Out was quick to begin.  Mepunga Hayles, She Can Excite and Lala Fig were slow to begin.

Jack Out underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right hindleg quadriceps, and left hindleg pencil/whip injuries.  A five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Kennel Representitive Mr D.Geyer, who advised that Jack Out would most likely return to 300m racing as the 450m was probably too far for the greyhound at this point of its career. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Geyer to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Jack Out in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event. 

Westside Warrior, Big Brew and Sugar Shane collided soon after the start.  Westside Warrior and Perpetuate collided on the first turn.  Bobby Bull Shark and Ten Dollar Slaps collided on the first turn, checking Ten Dollar Slaps.  Westside Warrior and Perpetuate collided approaching the home turn, checking Perpetuate.  Big Brew and Sugar Shane collided approaching the home turn.  Bobby Bull Shark and Aston Orazio collided several times on the home turn.  Ten Dollar Slaps checked off the heels of Westside Warrior in the home straight.

Aston Orazio, which fell after the finish, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right hindleg quadriceps and pencil/whip injuries.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Hostile Savage and Barefoot Barry were quick to begin.  Big Gordy, Accused and Big Alfie were slow to begin.

Invictus Caleb – Late scratching at 9:54 am when trainer, Ms Andrea Gurry reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Abby's Illusion, Just In Time, Zipping Martina and Abby's Star were quick to begin.  Markus Rhode and Aston Atlas were slow to begin.

A sample was taken from Black Phoenix at the trainer’s kennel earlier today. 

Crazy Old Duck – Late scratching at 2:21pm when trainer, Mr Garry Marshman reported the greyhound to have vomiting (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Joyous Promise.

Joyous Promise and Black Phoenix were quick to begin.  Just Admit It was slow to begin.

Aston Valkyrie checked off Black Phoenix approaching the first turn.  Star Shooter and Black Phoenix collided on the first turn.  Lips Boloney, Aston Shadow, Aston Valkyrie, Just Admit It and Black Phoenix collided on the first turn, causing all five greyhounds to lose ground; Black Phoenix fell as a result.

Aston Shadow underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Black Phoenix underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hindleg metatarsals.  No stand down period was imposed.

Pronator was quick to begin.  Saint Mac and Southern Thunder were slow to begin.

Ed Deeds, Southern Thunder and Al's Vixen collided on the first turn.  Blue Yaala galloped on the heels of Pronator on the first turn.  Saint Mac and Al's Vixen collided on the first turn.  Shift Change faltered approaching the home turn, stumbled and lost considerable ground.  Saint Mac and Al's Vixen collided several times approaching the home turn.  Shift Change and Southern Thunder faded in the home straight.

Shift Change underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined after 20 minutes and was found to have right hindleg back muscle and pencil/whip injuries.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Southern Thunder underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Geyer, the kennel representative of Southern Thunder regarding its performance in the home straight.  In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Geyer to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Southern Thunder in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track approaching the home turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.
