Katie Cortis was quick to begin.
Stay Together, Magnis Bale and Aston Stella collided soon after the start; checking Magnis Bale and Aston Stella. Cypress Bale crossed to the rail approaching the first turn; checking Magnis Bale and Aston Stella. Tokyo Ted and Stay Together collided on the first turn; checking Stay Together and Magnis Bale. Kraken Tex checked off Aston Stella on the first turn. Aston Stella galloped on Tokyo Ted on the home turn severely checking Tokyo Ted.
Tokyo Ted underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
