Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Bearish.
Bell Burner and Defensible were quick to begin. Hurricane Harry was slow to begin.
Real Reward and Aston Velvet collided approaching the first turn checking Real Reward. Bell Burner and Defensible collided on the first turn. Real Reward checked off Aston Velvet on the first turn. Bearish checked off Limit Switch and collided with Aston Velvet on the first turn. Real Reward shifted out, turned its head outwards and marred Bearish on the second turn. Hurricane Harry checked off Inside Fifty entering the back straight. Hurricane Harry raced wide in the back straight. Limit Switch galloped on Aston Velvet on the home turn. Defensible, Real Reward and Aston Velvet collided in the home straight checking Real Reward.
Real Reward underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing and a spike wound to the right front foot, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative, Mr. Peter Presutto, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1), Real Reward was charged with marring. Mr. Presutto pleaded not guilty to the charge, Real Reward was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
