Steward's Report
The Stewards questioned Mr David McKenzie the trainer of Maxwell Hammer in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this race. Mr McKenzie stated that the greyhound was checked this morning and found to have hock soreness. Stewards noted his explanation.
Society Icon and Black Power were quick to begin. Black Power shifted out soon after the start checking Small Soldier. Alecia, Small Soldier and Blazin’ Sushi collided approaching the first turn checking Blazin’ Sushi. Metro Boomin’ and Blazin’ Sushi collided approaching the first turn. Small Soldier and Alecia collided on the first turn severely checking Alecia. Society Icon and Kingy Lights collided on the home turn and again in the home straight. Love And Thunder was checked off Small Soldier in the home straight.
Society Icon underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (cramp) Society Icon must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
SATISFACTORY TRIAL RESULTS:
