Steward's Report

All persons attending today, checked-in and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 28.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.7 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Poppy To Burn.

Reinforcements was slow to begin.

Cosmetic Rose and Poppy To Burn collided soon after the start. Moraine Lucy and Crymelon Tactile collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Cosmetic Rose, Poppy To Burn and War Time Novelty collided on the first turn checking Poppy To Burn. Cosmetic Rose, Poppy To Burn and Crymelon Tactile collided approaching the home turn checking Crymelon Tactile. War Time Novelty and Marie's Angel collided entering the home straight. Marie's Angel and Paluma collided in the home straight checking Paluma.

Paluma underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Sinnott regarding the racing manners of Marie's Angel in the home straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr Sinnott, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
