Stewards spoke to Mr Brett Cook, the trainer of Yeah Sweetie regarding its improved performance in this event.  Mr Cook stated that the greyhound received interference at its most recent start and in his opinion with luck in running he considered the greyhound a place chance in tonight's event.  A post-race sample was taken from Yeah Sweetie - the winner of the event.

Ronnie Armo was slow to begin.

Myola Sunrise galloped on Jayville Menace approaching the first turn, checking Our Frankie and Rower's Rule.  Jayville Menace and Rower's Rule collided on the first turn.  Myola Sunrise checked off Jayville Menace on the first turn.  Jayville Menace shifted wide approaching the home turn and collided with Rower's Rule and On The Air.  Lenny's Jagger turned its head out approaching the home turn and marred Jayville Menace.  Destroy We Said and Halo Lad collided entering the home straight.

Lenny's Jagger underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury.  Stewards spoke to Mr Korey Coleman, the representative of Lenny's Jagger regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Lenny's Jagger was charged with marring.  Mr Coleman pleaded guilty to the charge, Lenny's Jagger was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Jayville Menace underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Formosa, the trainer of Jayville Menace regarding its performance approaching the home turn.  After hearing evidence from Mr Formosa, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71 Jayville Menace must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Caribbean Queen was quick to begin.  Bourne Blue went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Bourbon Louie and Newtown Jet collided soon after the start.  Newtown Jet and Shania's Dream collided on the first turn, checking Newtown Jet.  Nancy Baker and Bourne Blue collided on the first turn, checking Bourne Blue.  Bourbon Louie and Caribbean Queen collided on the home turn.  Newtown Jet checked off Shania's Dream entering the home straight.  Newtown Jet and Shania's Dream collided approaching the winning post.

Trever's Desire crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Jack's Fantasy.  Oakvale Cruiser and Pontiac Bandit collided approaching the first turn.  Trever's Desire and Magical Doll collided on the first turn, checking Trever's Desire.  Oakvale Cruiser and Trever's Desire collided on the home turn.  Maximum Coco, Orson Ruby and Magical Doll collided approaching the winning post.

Powder Burn and Wild Harmony were quick to begin.
