All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.9 degrees and the kennel temperature was 20.7 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Track curator, Mr S. Boag advised that the track was medium harrowed on Friday, 21 January 2022.  

That's Life and Idaho Evie were quick to begin.  Gypsy Seymour was slow to begin.

Double Top and Makayla's Diva collided soon after the start.  Darley Lass and Cambria Bale collided soon after the start.  Double Top and Makayla's Diva collided approaching the first turn, checking Double Top.  That's Life and Rock Singer collided approaching the first turn, checking That's Life.  Makayla's Diva checked off Cambria Bale on the first turn.

Divine Calling and Strictly were slow to begin.

Arcus and Aston Astrid collided approaching the first turn.  Aston Tonto checked off Leggero on the first turn, checking Divine Calling.  Leggero checked off Aston Astrid on the first turn.  Poppy To Burn and Arch See All collided approaching the home turn; checking both greyhounds.  Poppy To Burn, Arch See All and Arcus collided on the home turn; checking all three greyhounds.  Leggero and Aston Tonto collided on the home turn.  Aston Astrid marred Poppy To Burn entering the home straight; checking Poppy To Burn and Arcus.  Aston Astrid marred Poppy To Burn in the home straight.  Divine Calling checked off Leggero approaching the winning post.

Aston Astrid underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to representative Mr John Campbell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and entering the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Aston Astrid was charged with marring.  Mr Campbell pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Astrid was suspended for 28 days at Ballarat only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

All greyhounds collided approaching the first turn; checking Forbes Delight, Faint Perfume, Clase Azul, Yeah Sweetie and Inga Assalt.  Clase Azul and Yeah Sweetie collided on the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Clase Azul checked off Yeah Sweetie approaching the home turn.

Waikerie Bandit, Knight's Cross and Hold Fast Bella collided soon after the start.  Ruby Dealer checked off Emerald Lake in the back straight.  Emerald Lake and Forbes Debut collided approaching the first turn.  Ruby Dealer checked off Knight's Cross on the first turn.

Waikerie Bandit underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to be displaying thumps and a slow recovery, and a left triangle injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Henry The Hawk was quick to begin.

Lala Fig and Petula collided soon after the start, checking Lala Fig.  Henry The Hawk faltered on the first turn and subsequently tailed off.  Petula checked off Hone Your Skills on the first turn.

Henry The Hawk underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right triangle and left wrist injuries.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Yellow Brick and Low Planes collided soon after the start.  Indy Korie, Low Planes, Yellow Brick and Litigator collided in the back straight; checking Yellow Brick and Low Planes.  Rocky Strike checked off Indian Shadow on the first turn.  Litigator and Indy Korie collided on the first turn.  Litigator and Indy Korie collided approaching the home turn, checking Litigator.  Low Planes and Litigator collided entering the home straight.  Indian Shadow and Yellow Brick raced wide in the home straight.

Mad Brax, Maximum Sam, Enid's Angel and Rainbow City were slow to begin.

Little Leo, Exford Norm, Autumn Doll and I'm A Psycho collided soon after the start; checking I'm A Psycho, Autumn Doll and Exford Norm.  Maximum Sam and Enid's Angel collided soon after the start.  I'm A Psycho, Autumn Doll, Exford Norm and Rainbow City collided approaching the first turn; checking all four greyhounds.  Exford Norm, Rainbow City and Enid's Angel collided approaching the home turn.  I'm A Psycho and Exford Norm collided on the home turn.

Due to a malfunction of the timing mechanism, the first split was inadvertently semaphored at 16:68 (second split).  The Judge hand timed the first split at 6.93

The starter for this event was reminded of her responsibilities after she momentarily failed to activate the green light once the greyhounds were boxed.

Bissaka Spider and Pablo's Star were quick to begin.

Big Bash Jess and Seabrook Baker collided soon after the start.  Blue Raspberry and Drain The Swamp collided soon after the start.  Seabrook Baker, Big Bash Jess and Seabrook Short collided approaching the first turn; checking Big Bash Jess and Seabrook Short.  Jack's Rose contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground.  Blue Raspberry checked off Pablo's Star on the first turn.  Bissaka Spider checked off Seabrook Baker on the first turn.  Seabrook Short raced wide in the home straight.

Jack's Rose underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left foreleg elbow.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
