All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Samples were taken from Dusty's Dream and Summer Lovin' upon arrival at the course.

Fabriola Yanis was slow to begin.

Hazel Intention and Summer Lovin' collided soon after the start.  Rohan Bale checked off Crymelon Ivy approaching the first turn.  Hazel Intention and Fabriola Yanis collided on the first turn.  Summer Lovin' checked off Rohan Bale on the third turn.  Crymelon Ivy and Summer Lovin' collided on the home turn.

Reservior Frank and Papalia Bale were slow to begin.

Bucked Head and Annali collided soon after the start.  Sally Intention, Bucked Head and Annali collided approaching the first turn checking Bucked Head and Annali.  Sally Intention and Papalia Bale collided on the first turn checking Papalia Bale.  Reservior Frank checked off Annali on the first turn.  Thunder Strike faulted in the back straight.  Thunder Strike checked off Annali on the third turn checking Bucked Head.  Sally Intention and Papalia Bale collided entering the home straight.  

Thunder Strike underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Calven Russell regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the back straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr. Russell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the back straight. In reaching this decision, Stewards discussed the greyhound's injury with the On-Track Veterinarian and took into consideration the affect this may have had on its performance in the event. 

Lady Lily Hook – Late scratching at 7.34am when Mr. Charlie Galea reported the greyhound to have a hock injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Grenadier Prince – New declared weight of 33.7 kg, last raced at 32.5 kg.

Soda Extreme and Esava collided on the first turn.  Jam Jam checked off Soda Extreme on the second turn.  Surreptitious and Soda Extreme collided entering the home straight.  Grenadier Prince turned its head outwards checking Rio Tommy in the home straight.

Jam Jam underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Grenadier Prince underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Paul Anderton regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Grenadier Prince was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Anderton pleaded guilty to the charge and  Grenadier Prince must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Classic Touch – Late scratching at 8.01am when Mrs Yvonne Andrews reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Flying Jelly – Late scratching at 1.40pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a torn nail to the left front foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Red Hot Lady was quick to begin. 

Mazikeen Smith and Alcindor collided soon after the start.  Red Hot Lady, Mazikeen Smith, Alcindor, Impending, Sierra Foxtrot and Roxy Smirnoff collided approaching the first turn checking Sierra Foxtrot.  Red Hot Lady checked off Impending on the second turn checking Sierra Foxtrot.  Sierra Foxtrot raced wide in the back straight.  Impending checked off Roxy Smirnoff on the third turn.  Alcindor and Roxy Smirnoff collided in the home straight. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. John Burch, trainer of Alcindor, after reports were received of poor conduct and inappropriate language behind the boxes. Acting in accordance with GAR 86(q), Mr. Burch was charged with engaging in conduct which is detrimental to the image of greyhound racing. Mr. Burch pleaded guilty to charge. Stewards issued Mr. Burch with a fine of $1000.00 with $500.00 wholly suspended for 24 months pending no further behavioural offences. Stewards also imposed a fine of $100.00 that had previously been suspended from an offence on the 02/01/2022.

Salut Sideways was slow to begin.

Just A Minute and Defined Benefit collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Salut Sideways and Just A Minute collided on the first turn.  Hugs And Kisses and Peacock collided on the first turn.  Salut Sideways and Defined Benefit collided entering the back straight checking Salut Sideways.  Peacock checked off Hugs And Kisses in the back straight.  Hugs And Kisses and Defined Benefit collided on the home turn.  

Sweet Petit – Late scratching at 1.36pm under GAR 37(4) on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian after the greyhound was found to be infested with fleas. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance stating the condition no longer exists before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Two Phones upon arrival at the course.

Carry On Liam and Two Phones collided soon after the start.  It's Not Fun checked off Carry On Liam on the first turn checking Two Phones and Fabriola Zad.  

Ms Donna Knight was issued with a warning regarding the use of a mobile phone in the kennelling area in accordance with GAR 44.

Zarate and Storm Stroller were quick to begin.

Zarate, I'm Back, Paua Of Mindy, Storm Stroller and Royal Deed collided on the first turn checking Zarate, Paua Of Mindy and Royal Deed.  

El Dorado was slow to begin.

Ranako Bale, Grace's Shout and Amnesty collided approaching the first turn checking Grace's Shout and Amnesty.  Perfectly Poised began to tire on the third turn.

Yalena Bale crossed to the rail on the first turn checking What Could Be. 

Ask For More was quick to begin.  Lightning Fury, Our Shout and Gamblin' Ways were slow to begin.

Ask For More, Slick Intention and Aston Matrice collided on the first turn checking Slick Intention and Aston Matrice.  Our Shout and Slick Intention collided on the second turn checking Slick Intention, severely checking Our Shout and Lightning Fury.  Aston Matrice faltered and lost ground on the second turn.  

Aston Matrice underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
