Steward's Report
Reservior Frank and Papalia Bale were slow to begin.
Bucked Head and Annali collided soon after the start. Sally Intention, Bucked Head and Annali collided approaching the first turn checking Bucked Head and Annali. Sally Intention and Papalia Bale collided on the first turn checking Papalia Bale. Reservior Frank checked off Annali on the first turn. Thunder Strike faulted in the back straight. Thunder Strike checked off Annali on the third turn checking Bucked Head. Sally Intention and Papalia Bale collided entering the home straight.
Thunder Strike underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Calven Russell regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the back straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Russell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the back straight. In reaching this decision, Stewards discussed the greyhound's injury with the On-Track Veterinarian and took into consideration the affect this may have had on its performance in the event.
