Steward's Report
All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
Dr. Chelsea, Vinny Dewalt, Jenny's Joy and Aston Tracy collided several times soon after the start. Tower Bell and Letter To You collided soon after the start. Vinny Dewalt and Aston Tracy collided approaching the 200m mark and again at the 200m mark. Aston Tracy checked off Vinny Dewalt at the 200m mark causing Aston Tracy to lose ground. Jenny's Joy and Dr. Chelsea collided approaching the 150m mark. Dr. Chelsea and Letter To You collided at the 150m mark. Dr. Chelsea crossed to the outside and raced wide approaching the 100m mark. Jenny's Joy faltered at the 100m mark. Letter To You checked off Tower Bell at the 50m mark.
Jenny's Joy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a dislocated right hind foot and a right deltoid injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Barry Mcnamara, the trainer of Jenny's Joy. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Mcnamara to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Jenny's Joy in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Aston Tracy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Tower Bell - the winner of the event.
